Designing Bread & Butter sounds for Europa
Back in the day, I was asked by Propellerhead to design patches for Reason. The Props needed many patches for the Factory Sound Bank and one of the most important type of sounds the Props wanted us sound designers to program was what we call Bread & Butter sounds.
Now in the shop: 80s, a package of 80s sounding synth patches for Europa by Reason
I have been so impressed by the sonic possibilities of the Europa synth by Reason so I decided to make a package for it containing 132 80s tribute sounds. Many of them will bring back memories of the classic synths like the Mono/Poly or the Prophet 5.
Now that Reason 9.5 gets VST support, time for an analysis!
The Props announced that version 9.5 of Reason will support VST plugins. What!? Yes indeed! Time for an analysis.

Rockmen ReFill is now available!
Rockmen is a ReFill for Propellerhead Reason users which consists of 9 guitar amp simulation presets + 71 additional presets for modulation, saturation, delay effects and so on. The main ingredient of the Rockmen ReFill is a custom build AMP Combinator.

As a sound designer I explore interesting sounds. I study them and try to reconstruct them. In this post I examine the rhythm sound of an old Casio VL-1 and reproduce it in Propellerhead Reason software.

SHORT [short film] viewing (with my sound design and mixing)
Yesterday the short film Short had its first viewing in Amsterdam. I was responsible for the sound design and mixing. Short was written, directed and produced by Naima Challioui. It will be screened on film festivals soon. I mixed it within Ableton Live.
