The IR-03 package consists of 9 different sounding Impulse Responses which were captured using my trusty old Palmer PDI-03 Speaker Simulator (*).
The PDI-03 has 2 toggle switches for creating different cabinet tones:
- DEEP: 2 x 4×12 stack with āVā EQ curve
- NORMAL: 4×12
- FLAT: open back 2×12
- BRIGHT: top end enhanced
- NORMAL: British speaker sound
- MELLOW: American speaker sound
The impulse responses were captured from these 9 combinations and saved as 24 bit wav files in 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz formats, making 36 files in total.

Background information
I bought my Palmer Speaker Simulator PDI-03 in the early 90s. It was a total game changer for me. The dynamic sound it gave me in combination with my Koch, Marshall and Vox tube amps was simply astonishing. With the Palmer I was able to get great tones without the need to use a loud amp in the studio. Since then I also started to used the device for live gigs. It made the engineers very happy since the signal was super reliable and punchy.
The PDI-03 is a passive load box combined with a filter. It works without a power supply. The PDI-03 has a very open and punchy sound. It sounds as direct as a DI and has the same tonal characteristics as a speaker cabinet.
Prices are excluding VAT. Will be charged for European customers only.
