Sound Design for stories

Sound design can help a story. Add feelings to it. Help to smooth out transitions between scenes. Put the story in a different perspective.

Sound design is a cool example of the old saying “show, don’t tell” or maybe better said:

“feel, don’t tell”

Often this type of sound design is part of the editing proces.

My name is Marco Raaphorst. I provide sound design for stories as a service.

Listen to some of the examples down below.

A quick showcase…

De Zwembadclub (Dutch podcast) is the new podcast by Annegriet Wietsma, creator of De Deventer Mediazaak. I, Marco Raaphorst, provided the sound design and did the audio post-production. All of Annegriet’s voice-overs were also recorded in my studio.

Flick Radio tells the story of a man who gets lost in the photo community Flickr.com. All sound design by myself, Marco Raaphorst, as well as most of the music that was composed.

Sound design for the animations which were shown at Festival Duurzame Mobiliteit.

Wie Wordt De Baas Op Internet? a documentary about online freedom. Both the sound design and the music were created by me.

Sound design for the animations in the Coastwatch video’s for Stichting De Noordzee. The music was also composed by me.
