If you’re a songwriter I guess you will fall in love with the music of Todd Rundgren at some point. At least, I did. I have heard Todd play live several times. Last time was a month ago in Amsterdam at the Paradiso. He used a large touchscreen running Windows with Reason on it. Even […]
Sloppy timing is not a groove, and sloppy timing generated by a machine is even worse. So yeah we worked very hard to get a great groove going, but we almost never got to the level we heard on other people’s CD’s at the time. Probably what we needed was a Fairlight or a Synclavier. […]
Propellerhead has released: a playable iPad version of Reason’s massive Thor synthesizer, with all of its features Including my patches for Thor commissioned by Propellerhead Software. A lot of people are nostalgic about the past. Retro is popular and that feels kinda strange to me. I remember the past as not being so pretty and thinking all the time about what technology could offer in the future. Because the equipment I was using in the late 80’s and early 90’s wasn’t […]

There it was in front of my face: Record, a new application by Propellerhead Software. When reading the email I was thinking about that old blogpost of mine: Guessing Propellerhead’s Plan. I was fortunate to be able to test Record for a couple of weeks. The news went public just 30 minutes ago. I am […]
